Black Friday... A plan in place.
Yesterday was the first time I EVER went to Black Friday. I even went by myself. It wasn't that bad. Maybe because I didn't get there until 9:00am.
I had a mission...to be done shopping and wrapped in one day or at least before December 1st.
A plan was in place:
Something you want,
Something you need,
Something you wear,
Something you read.
Most importantly...Cash only Christmas.
After all was purchased and some things ordered on-line. I decided on this: A roll of builders paper for $10 and a roll of green twine for $2 at the local hardware store.
I was ready to start wrapping by 4:00. But took a pause for dinner. Then armed with tape and scissors. I put on a good movie... "An Affair To Remember" and finished wrapping about the same time it was over.
Then I wrote a little note for each package, as it is the little things that count most. Right? I tried my hardest to make all the items meaningful and let each person know why I chose such a gift. I felt really blessed as I found some items on such a discount I would have never been able to do otherwise.
Yes!!! I did it!!! And yes, it may be simple, but I'm debt free and it's not about the gifts really, it's about Him.
I am grateful and blessed to even give this much, and now, He can now be the focal point of my holiday season.
I hope that you all have a wonderful few weeks leading up to Christmas and that Christmas Day will be wonderful, remarkable and bright and thoughts of Him will be with you most.
From me to you with love. -M
