Moments of gratitude & thanksgiving
A few important moments of gratitude I don't want to forget and will share them with you...in keeping with this thankful season.
I have been very very busy lately, busier than normal and wonderful acts of kindness have been bestowed upon me.
1. A very sweet friend offered to watch my little Em for free while I set up the "mock art gallery". Not one day, but two. 😊 Little Em's church friends go there and she is her nursery teacher at church. I have never had a babysitter that wasn't family and wasn't sure at first but, glad Little Em had a great time and I was able to work faster.
2. During a very busy day, I called a friend regarding some school stuff for my Little man. This was same day Gigi had her heart monitor put on and I couldn't come by until almost noon and then I had to pick up my Little man at 1:30. I received a text from her just as I was trying to figure out what to do for lunch, the message said "Lunch will be ready when you get here." When I arrived. A nice fire was going. Homemade!! Pot pies and cookies were waiting on the table. Praying together I could not hold back my grateful tears.
3. Silly, but grateful for another moment as I know I'm being watched over. I prayed that Heavenly Father knew the difference between my wants and needs and it always seems to work out that I get what I need. I'll share this story as I know Heavenly Father hears all our prayers...silly ones too. I've have two favorite gap jeans since 2006 and they finally had to be retired. My sister gave me a new pair of awesome banana republic jeans which saved my wallet...but accidentally, My Mister dried them and they shrunk. So, I went to the thrift store to see if I could find a replacement, I almost always find what I'm looking for when I go there. Like I'm being blessed for being thrifty. {:)} well, no luck. It's getting colder and skirts don't cut it. I decided to go to target. I hate the mall. Two ladies at target were very friendly and helpful. -- beyond!!! -and helped me find some jeans in my size. I hate jean shopping!! Especially trying them on and off and on...again. I successfully found 2 pairs that fit. That's pretty awesome right? - well, I only budgeted for one pair. Just before I walked away with the one pair, I said to the ladies, "I usually buy my jeans in pairs because it's so difficult to find one, but sadly can only purchase one pair today". As I walked off one of the ladies checked the price of the jeans I left behind and told me they were on clearance and by using the new "cartwheel app" I'd save an additional 20%!!??on a clearance item. I got to the register only to find out they were both 40% off PLUS 20%off of that!! So I scored both pants for less than the one pair I was budgeted for!!! Score!! I know that this may seem trivial, but I feel it was a blessing and know that my thrift and sacrifice reaped these blessings. Since not working I have learned to live little, instead of large. I am more grateful when I have a little something in the budget for me and I don't take it for granted.
