My 3 baskets

Another year, another goal...

or two and some remain the same.

I am a list maker & a pile creator.

This year I bought  "to do" baskets for my projects.

Actually only 3 baskets, as I can only do 3 things at once. Haha. More on that in another post. ;)

I like having my "to dos", in front of me, on my table.

I like to see the big picture of what I'm focusing on.

I feel a sense of satisfaction when a project is completed.

The goals that always stay the same are my priorities.  They get done first.

I had a saying for years on my fridge... years... Not sure where it went in the move... but now it's part of my being.

"Get done what you have to do,

but don't want to do, first thing in the morning."

{then I'll add- you can relax  and play the rest of the day.}

What are my priorities before my fun and fancy days begin?

Well, scripture reading and prayers and after that household chores.

Sometimes I do get distracted. Like when I sleep in, or get sick and it only takes a few days of not doing this to stop the great momentum that I created.

My journal and scriptures are small and easily put down, but the dishes and dirt never go away. The adversary is cunning. And sometimes will distract me from number one, Him. So, this year I gave Him a basket. This is larger than the book and can keep all my notes and journal and I can carry it easily from table to bed if necessary.

I always have a better day when I start my day reading and praying and there always seems to be more time and energy to do what I want.  "Run and not be weary. "

Another basket is for the art or creating.

I took the children's art to the museum on Saturday. It was such a great feeling to feel part of a bigger picture, full of others who are creative.

I can't wait to see Gigi's art hanging up.

Another basket is for Fridays. Not just any Fridays but for "MNOP's " a monthly gathering of women I'm creating this year, and one of my goals to reach out, empower women, and create more. I'll share more in another post about MNOP's.

The very first theme is Breakfast at Tiffany's ... The content of that movie isn't the best, but some of things I picked up while watching is that Audrey Hepburn's character, Holly Golightly, didn't feel loved, didn't know love, and didn't really know how to love.

She says "I'm not Lou Lou May. I'm not Holly Golightly.

I don't know who I am. "  she doesn't want to attach herself to anything not even her cat, which she calls, "cat".

Well, no mistaking we are God's children and daughters of a king. We are loved. So crowns are in order, and I am putting a twist on things and telling my ladies...

"go lightly on yourselves"

We don't have to be perfect, but we can still be wonderful.

 Don't compare yourself to others.

 Celebrate you!!!!

When a basket is empty I can fill it up again and keep a clearer focus of what I am working on and towards.

From me to you with love, M
