Dr. Suess and friends

I love any. excuse to play.
Since last Friday was all about moms getting together {LMNOP}, I planned a play date for Little Em and her friends.

Then I remembered it was Dr. Suess day.

Luckily for me, I had all these items left over from last year.
I quickly put together a theme play date.

Hip hip hooray!!!

What a great day for up!!

We made mini flags out of ribbon, skewers and hot glue.
Perfect for a magical world.

And we added poms to  the skewers to make Pom pom flowers like the clovers in the book, Horton Hears a Who.

We put these on top of the cake we made, to give it some whimsy and Dr. Suess charm!! Yippee

I put up the banner I made last year on my mantel.

Everyone got there own place setting with their name.

...and we were all set.

Just waiting for friends...

Oh...I had just enough bags left over from last year too.

{These are from the dollar section at  target.} Yippee!!

We ate yellow cake w homemade chocolate frosting for a snack.  Yummy!

There were lots of giggles.
I think they all liked it.

After our snack I tried to read to them. I only made it through 2 books half way!!!
They really wanted to play.

My friend took these pictures and sent them to me afterwards. I love these moms, they have become such good friends. It's nice that our Littles get along so well and we can chit chat.

Later that day, Little Em and I made two "suessical" bouquets.
We gave one of them to our neighbor.

Happy Dr. Suess day.

From me to you with love, M
