I love when random things connect.
I love listening to books on cd when I can't use my hands to hold a book and want to keep my mind busy.
I'm currently listening to Velva Jean Learns to Fly and it just so happens that we went to the areospace museum today, which I really didn't think much about because it was Josh's choice not mine. Well, lo and behold that book came alive. 🙌
I talked to some Vets and they shared some stories with me, I mentioned the "star program" that josh and I are working on. The Vets were happy to hear the "stars" would be given new life and the Vets remembered in the process.
Anyhow, just before we were about to leave I glanced upstairs and saw it was dedicated to women in aerospace. The boys were pretty much done, but I had to go see!
One of the women in the book is named Jackie Cochran. She is referred to as organizing the Women's Flying Training Detachment known as the WFTD in the early 1940's. Well, I was surprised as I read the commemorative plaque for women in aerospace and there, right there was her name and WFTD and the suit she was wearing....Oh heck ya!
