Finding room for art
Her space
Back in 2006 or 07, I can't remember exactly when? I cleaned out part of our garage so we could have a little place, set aside, to nurture the arts. Paint brushes, canvas, paint and all things crafty.
My Bigs were still at home, in Highschool, life was busy, but wonderful.
It was then, that I painted my first canvas not knowing what I was doing, a flower, and a dream was planted in my heart forever. I gave that first painting to a wonderful friend, Donna was her name, and I remember she gave me encouragement and hope and hung it in her home.
Then, oh man, we had so many things thrown at us, if you've followed me you know, so I won't list them all here. But we moved, and for a few years the arts in me became a stranger, and homeschool and a yard work became my pastime.
Loving deeply, Pulling weeds, digging into my life and the earth, re-grounding myself. Slowly plugging along.
Then with a little more chaos in 2013,
...hearts racing, we moved again, this time a little aluminum shed sat empty in the backyard...it kept calling to me...and when things were at there most uncertain for my Gigi and her heart, it seemed as though the arts all came back in an instant and we filled that "Shack" so quickly, it was like stepping into yesterday.
from me to you w love,
M
