Striving for Joy, strengths the future...

Jo, thanks for your smiles and striving to choose joy even when things don't always go as planned.

He looks forward to these monthly dances, I mean really looks forward. This dance gave him motivation to finish a 600 word essay. That is motivation.
So, when last nights game, dinner, dance party ended early, he was bummed.

I drove him there and got an early text to pick him up.

It ended early mom

It didn't quite meet his expectations and  he was clearly unhappy.
Shoulders slumped. I felt bad.

We talked about this on the way home and how disappointments will come our way,
but it's how we respond to them that matters.
I also told him it's OK to be sad for a little while, but then think of the good.
Letting him reflect on the blessings he has, strengthens him and will help whenever
he feels weak.

We have...
A car to go, friends to miss, a mom and dad, a comfy bed, a new day.

When we got home, he was smiling and then,
and WE,
Mister, me and he,
all gathered in bed and watched a movie.

Him sandwiched in the middle, letting him be Little.
