Sew, I am learning something new.

I used to spend lots of money on clothes when I worked, but since I decided to stay home to be with my Littles, I need to conserve. I am being more creative. I am daring to learn new skills and to be different, not too different, just me different.

I rarely see something I want to buy and then wear it the way it was meant to be.
Also, finding modest clothing is hard.  I have altered many clothing items to make them more modest, but this was the first time I bought something that was way too big and then altered it to fit me.
I bought this at the thrift store for $3.00.

I bought this skirt because of the  detailing. I love the red piping and the buttons in the front and back.

There was a lining in this skirt that I had to take out before I pinned the skirt and then put it back into place when I was done.

This shirt with the anchors I found at TJ MAX for $12.00. It was to die for, but the sleeves were 3/4 length and the material wouldn't stay in place when I tried to roll them up.  I felt they looked a little frumpy, so even though I love the pattern, I didn't want to wear it.  I thought if the sleeves were shorter I would like it more and I was right.

I took about 3 inches off each side.

The detailing at the bottom of this skirt is hard to see.
 It has a pleat and two layers.
Ugh, my bum. {:(}

Oh and my shoes....

My favorite shoes,
Red Mary Janes made by 9west,
 who knows how long I've had them...who cares...I love them.

Well, I think this post was for me more than anything...

from me to you w love, M
