Treasures = anything of value to you.
Many things can happen when the weather is just right. For instance, a garage can be cleaned up and organized. Hidden treasures can be found and tires on bikes can get pumped.
The above wood carving was my fathers. He picked this up while serving in Thailand in the signal corps. My older sister gave it to me. She said it is to ward off bad spirits. {ha} it used to freak me out when I was growing up, I have a greater appreciation for it now.
These few things around my home, give me a sense that the people whom loved them dearly, are here with me, and as I appreciate them, and see their beauty, I see life a little more like they did.
Last Fall after the cleaning of the "Big House" as we call it, since we lived in the "Little House" for years... Biggest Little needed to use the restroom, she took Littlest Em inside and sat her down while she went. When she came back, she was still sitting....looking in awe of what was around her and captured this picture.
We finally cleaned up, pumped up, and wheeled out our all our bikes...
Shortly after we moved here, the family property was sold. Years of life there had to be gone through. After everybody came to claim what they wanted a few items were left behind. My mister and I helped to pack up some items left behind for his mother, who could not be there, as she is in Iceland serving a mission.
We'll, a few things that would be thrown away or donated to the Good Will, became my treasures.
These items include mostly old books and magazines.
Some of these books are ours, some were grandpas. As I look to the past, I see the future in these books.
Some old cards and National Geographic magazines go perfectly with all the other wonders Mister D has collected over the years, plus Little J is a lover of all games, especially cards.
More National Geographic magazines...which Little J loves to go through and discover all sorts of fascinating facts.
I made this little sign "We might not be world travelers, But we've had many journeys". I am grateful for books and the history they provide. I might not be able to physically visit these places, but I can go there in my mind.
My Mister has been an avid collector of treasures. He has been metal detecting and surveying areas around the mother lode for about 2 decades. I like to surround my family with all these treasures, in hopes that they will be encouraged with exploration and imagination.
I'll share some treasures here....
Here is some of Mister D's glass art an elephant from my dad's journey to Thailand and of course more national geographic mags...

It inspired us to have an impromptu photo shoot later that year. {November 2013}
Grandpa G Joe made this mural and many that I could not show.
All the Littles sit on the church pew that I wish I could have taken. {:)}
Then we just started to get a little silly...you know me, just needed some whimsy!
These pictures we not planned...we asked Big Little if she had a friend that could take pictures of us, you know, for a memory keeper. A keeper of this wonderful house and all the memories there in made.
from me to you w love, M
