Family Life...Family Garden
He is a very busy "little camper". {:)}
He has to plan and carry out a family project.
The project he has chosen is to organize our family garden this year.
He is getting this section of the yard ready for cantaloupe.
I love the sweet juiciness of homegrown fruit, but I love his willingness to serve more!
In this area, we are growing zucchini, yellow squash and peppers.
Along the fence line Little G planted sunflowers. Can't wait to see how many grow!
This keeps our dog out.... DC {Dark Chocolate}, just doesn't know what to make of the flapping ribbons and neither do the squirrels and birds!!!
I like that I can add a little whimsy for a purpose. {:)} win win win
Container Gardening...tomatoes, basil and rosemary...when these herbs are planted together it keeps the bugs away. The bugs don't like the robust fragrance of the basil. The bees on the other-hand love it. This is a little bit of an issue because Little G is very afraid of BEES.
Little G made signs for the tomatoes because we planted a few different varieties.
One pot of strawberries. We wanted to try something new. They are very sweet. This variety is very small, one bite and it's gone.
...and then there is this variety that is even smaller...it is more of a decorative spreading plant but it is in our grass. Little Em is the one that noticed them first. They are right next to her picnic table otherwise we would have never noticed them. They are sweet too. {:)}
She looks for them every time she goes out there now.....
and of course she has to eat them.... grandma said it was ok. {:)}
