Happy Easter Easter
Happy Easter, He has risen!
In preparation to celebrate Christ Sacrifice for us, I sat down with Little J to work in his Duty to God book. This was a good opportunity to learn more about the atonement of Jesus Christ.
He suffered more any one person will ever suffer. He felt our every sorrow and every pain and because He died for us, we can return to our Father in Heaven again.
To make sure we had an Emphasis of Christ on Easter, first we celebrated Him and then we celebrated life and the newness this season brings. We had a discussion led by Little J about the atonement and then traditional easter baskets and a hunt for the golden egg.
I didn't want to buy candy and I kept thinking of what the Littles could do to create something new, and keep Christ in mind. I put a picture of Christ in everyone basket and gave "Strings" a Book of Mormon. Just in case he'd like to read it again.
Our beloved "GBG" left behind this egg hunt tradition.
Each egg with a corresponding scripture and a little trinket that goes along with the scripture.
After all the baskets were made and all the prep work for Easter dinner was I done,
I sat down to watch TV and relax. The history channel had The Bible Movie on.
I thought this would be a good way to prepare spiritually for Easter.
I didn't realize how long that movie was until it was 3:00 in the morning when it was over. I thought I could stay up for the sunrise....but couldn't
OH the tears, for the pain and agony that He suffered for us.
The next morning bright and early my big Littles came over for church.
All of the sudden there were 5 girls in the bathroom.....
Easter Pictures in the bathroom!
I enjoyed teaching the 6 & 7 year olds about Jesus's resurection.
The Littles were ready and eager to go home after church...
for their Easter surprises.
First, i shared my testimony with them, and then I shared others. I love this lady.
You can look her up on YouTube if you'd lik. Al Fox, the tatooed mormon.
We waited for an " honorary" guest.
Baskets?!?! {I use the same grass & baskets every year. ;)} I keep them in a big Rubbermaid tub to save time and money.
Getting ready for the big Easter egg hunt. 101 Easter eggs.
Little Em loves "Strings", and holds onto him tight when ever he comes over.
Finding eggs is fun!
But eating what's inside is better....drooooollll
Big Little to the rescue. No more candy, ok. :}
from me to you w love, M
